Introducing DriveBot: one engine room for automotive software

DriveBot is the new parent company for AuctionCalc and Motor IQ. Here is what we build, how the pieces fit, and what is coming next.

Today we are putting a name on something that has been growing quietly for a while. DriveBot is the parent company for our automotive platforms: the calculators, data tools and content that help people buy, fix and understand cars.

The family so far

  • AuctionCalc works out the maximum you should bid on a salvage or repairable vehicle once every fee, repair and tax is counted. It covers the US and Canadian markets and comes with a Chrome extension that imports listings in one click.
  • Motor IQ is our automotive magazine: reviews, comparisons, long-term tests and buying guides written for real drivers.
  • Shop OS, now in development, is a light tool for independent repair shops that brings repair information, estimates and the books onto one screen.

Why one company

Every product shares one stack: the same data pipelines, the same account system, the same design language. When we make vehicle data faster for AuctionCalc, Motor IQ’s buying guides get better numbers too. One team, one engine, several vehicles built on top of it.

What is next

More calculators, more browsers for the AuctionCalc extension, and the first working version of Shop OS with a handful of partner shops. If you run a shop, a dealership or an automotive business and want to build something together, we would love to hear from you.
